Deborah Eckland and Greg Young successfully represented a pharmacy and resolved a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the husband of a woman who had died from an alleged drug interaction. The woman had been battling cancer, and drugs were given to her to help with the nausea and to address a thrush condition she had developed from the chemotherapy. The drugs were not to be taken together. The woman died of cardiac arrest, but there was never strong evidence that she had taken the drugs together or, if she had, that the drug interaction caused her death. Shortly before trial, Goetz & Eckland negotiated a confidential settlement to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
